Tom Hardy was raised in East Sheen, South West London, in a creative household. His mother, Anne, was an artist and painter, while his father, Edward, worked as a writer and comedy novelist. Growing up, Hardy developed a keen interest in acting and pursued his passion from an early age. He attended Tower House School, a preparatory school in East Sheen, before moving on to Reed’s School in Surrey.
Despite his love for acting, Hardy initially struggled academically. However, his determination and dedication to his craft never wavered. After completing his studies at Reed’s School, he enrolled at Richmond Drama School.

Hardy’s career began in the late 1990s with notable appearances in various television dramas, including “Band of Brothers” and “Oliver Twist.” However, it was his breakthrough role as the notorious criminal Charles Bronson in the 2008 film “Bronson” that brought him critical acclaim and international recognition. Hardy’s mesmerising portrayal of the complex character showcased his exceptional acting prowess, earning him numerous accolades.
Following the success of “Bronson,” Hardy continued to impress audiences and critics alike with his performances in films such as “Inception” (2010), “Warrior” (2011), and “Lawless” (2012). However, it was his role as the villainous Bane in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012) that catapulted him to global stardom. Hardy’s powerful presence and intense performance left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide.
 In 2014, he married actress Charlotte Riley, whom he met on the set of the television series “Wuthering Heights” in 2009. The couple have two children together.
Beyond his acting career, Tom Hardy is known for his philanthropic efforts. He actively supports numerous charitable organisations, including The Prince’s Trust, which helps young people in the United Kingdom overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
