Born: 10 October 1964, Oldham, Lancashire, England. 

Sarah Lancashire found her fascination with storytelling and performance early on. Inspired by the theatrical productions staged at her local Oldham College, she embarked on a formal education at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama, graduating in 1986.

Sarah Lancashire’s professional acting career took off in 1991 when she joined the cast of the iconic British soap opera “Coronation Street,” portraying the sassy and ambitious Raquel Watts. Her portrayal of Raquel earned her critical acclaim and cemented her position as a rising star in the industry.

Unwilling to be confined to one genre, Lancashire ventured into the world of television drama, delivering memorable performances in series such as “Clocking Off” (2000), “Rose and Maloney” (2002-2005), and “Seeing Red” (2000). Her portrayal of Gertrude Morel in a 2002 adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s “Sons and Lovers” further solidified her reputation for versatility and emotional depth.
