Born: 20 January 1934, Vauxhall, Liverpool, England. 

Thomas Joseph Baker, better known as Tom Baker, embarked on a journey that would lead him to become one of the most iconic figures in science fiction television. His early life was marked by academic struggles and a passion for the arts, particularly acting.

Despite his academic challenges, Baker’s love for performance led him to pursue a theatrical career. He developed his craft in repertory theatre and made his television debut in 1965. Baker’s breakthrough came in 1974 when he was cast as the fourth incarnation of the Doctor in the BBC’s long-running sci-fi series, Doctor Who.
