Rob Brydon, born Robert Brydon Jones, is a celebrated Welsh actor, comedian and presenter. His early life was shaped by his mother, Joy, a schoolteacher and his father, Howard, a car dealer. Brydon grew up in Baglan alongside his younger brother, Peter. His comedic influences included Barry Humphries and Woody Allen and he often memorised sketches by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore during his youth.
Brydon attended Dumbarton House School in Swansea before moving to Porthcawl Comprehensive School, where he joined the youth theatre group and met Ruth Jones, his future co-star in “Gavin & Stacey”. He later enrolled at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff but left after two years to pursue a career in radio and acting.

His career breakthrough came with the black comedy series “Human Remains” and the mockumentary “Marion and Geoff”, which showcased his talent for blending humour with poignant storytelling. Brydon gained further recognition for his role as Uncle Bryn in the BAFTA winning sitcom “Gavin & Stacey”. He also starred in “The Trip” series alongside Steve Coogan, which combined travel, food and improvised comedy. His film credits include “Cinderella” (2015) and “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” (2016). Since 2009, he has hosted the popular panel show “Would I Lie to You?”, cementing his status as a household name.
In his personal life, Brydon married Clare Holland in 2006 and they have two sons. He also has three children from his previous marriage to Martina Fitchie. A devoted family man, Brydon resides in London and enjoys hobbies like golf and supporting Swansea City Football Club.
