Born: May 20, 1985, London, England.
Joel Fry is a British actor and musician, who studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating with a BA in Acting Degree in 2005. He is also a former member of the band Animal Circus, which released the EP Snakes and Ladders in 2012.
Joel Fry has had roles in various television, film and theatre productions in the United Kingdom and America. He is best known for portraying Hizdahr zo Loraq in the series Game of Thrones, Frenchie in Our Flag Means Death, and Stylax Rufus Eurystacles in Plebs. He has also appeared in comedies such as White Van Man, Trollied, Twenty Twelve, W1A, and This Time with Alan Partridge.
In film, he has played diverse characters such as Lu’kibu in 10,000 BC, Rocky in the 2019 romantic comedy film Yesterday, Jasper Badun in the 2021 crime comedy-drama Cruella, and Dr. Martin Lowery in the 2021 horror film In the Earth. He has also starred in the Netflix film Bank of Dave, released in 2023, as Hugh, the solicitor to Burnley banker Dave Fishwick.
Joel Fry is featured in two songs on the 2022 Our Flag Means Death soundtrack, where he performs as his character, Frenchie. He has also been nominated for a Peabody Award for his role in the show.
