Born: 22 May 1988, Reykjavík, Iceland.

Heida Reed, born Heiða Rún Sigurðardóttir  grew up in the Breiðholt district as the middle child of a music teacher father and a dental hygienist mother. Her early years were shaped by a creative household and she attended Ölduselsskóli for her primary education. At 18, she was scouted by an Icelandic modelling agency, which led her to Mumbai, India, where she worked as a model for two years. This experience broadened her horizons and set the stage for her eventual transition into acting.

Reed moved to London at the age of 20 to pursue her passion for drama. She enrolled at the Drama Centre London, where she  graduated in 2010.

Heida Reed’s acting career began with a role in the 2011 film “One Day”, where she played Ingrid. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Elizabeth Chynoweth in the BBC historical drama “Poldark” (2015–2019), a role that showcased her talent and earned her critical acclaim. She also appeared in the CBS crime drama “FBI: International” as Special Agent Jamie Kellett, further solidifying her presence in international television. Her film credits include roles in “Against the Ice” (2022) and “Blank” (2022).

In her personal life, Reed is engaged to American producer Sam Ritzenberg.
