Growing up in a family deeply rooted in art and culture, Ayesha Dharker was exposed to the magic of storytelling from a young age. Her father, Anil Dharker, is a renowned journalist and writer while her mother Imtiaz Dharker is an esteemed poet. This creative environment nurtured her passion for performing arts.

Ayesha Dharker’s education took place both in India and England. She attended Queen Mary University of London where she pursued English literature with aspirations of immersing herself further into the realm of storytelling. Despite having no formal training as an actor initially, her raw talent shone through as she embarked on her acting journey.

Throughout her career spanning over two decades now, Ayesha has portrayed diverse characters across various mediums. One of her biggest breakthrough roles came in the critically acclaimed film “The Terrorist” (1998), directed by Santosh Sivan. Her powerful performance as Malli earned international recognition and established her as an exceptional talent to watch out for.

In addition to cinema success, Ayesha found equal acclaim on stage with notable appearances in plays such as “Rafta Rafta” at National Theatre London and “Anita And Me” at Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Her ability to effortlessly transition between different genres showcases her versatility as an actress.

Television audiences have also been captivated by Ayesha Dharker’s presence through memorable roles like Dr. Tara Mandal in the popular medical drama series “Doctors.”
