Mini Biography
Born: 9 February 1953, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Ciarán Hinds was raised in a working class family. He attended Holy Family Primary School and later enrolled at St. Malachy’s College, where his interest in acting began to flourish.
After completing his education, Hinds joined the Glasgow Citizens’ Theatre, and gained recognition in the theatre world for his performances in numerous Shakespearean plays, including “Richard III” and “Hamlet.”

Ciarán Hinds made his breakthrough on the big screen in 1981 with a role in “Excalibur.” Since then, he has appeared in a wide range of notable films, including “Road to Perdition” (2002), “Munich” (2005), and “There Will Be Blood” (2007). His portrayal of Gaius Julius Caesar in the HBO series “Rome” (2005-2007) garnered critical acclaim and further established his talent as a versatile actor.
In addition to his successful acting career, Hinds values his privacy and keeps his personal life out of the spotlight. However, it is known that he is married to French-Vietnamese actress Hélène Patarot, and they have a daughter together, actress Aoife Hinds.
