Ben Miller, born Bennet Evan Miller, grew up in Nantwich, Cheshire. His father, Michael, was a lecturer in American literature and his mother, Marion, was of Welsh descent. Ben’s early life was shaped by a mix of academic and creative influences, with his paternal grandfather being a tailor and his maternal grandfather a Lithuanian immigrant.
Ben Miller attended Malbank School and Sixth Form College in Nantwich before pursuing Natural Sciences at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge. During his time at Cambridge, he became involved in theatre and comedy, performing with the Footlights, a renowned student comedy group. He even shared the stage with actress Rachel Weisz, his then-girlfriend. Although he began a PhD in solid-state physics, Miller eventually abandoned his thesis to follow his passion for comedy.

Miller’s career took off as one half of the comedy duo Armstrong and Miller, alongside Alexander Armstrong. Their television series, “The Armstrong and Miller Show”, gained widespread acclaim. Miller also made a mark in acting, starring as DI Richard Poole in the BBC crime drama “Death in Paradise” and as James Lester in the sci-fi series “Primeval”. His film roles include playing Bough in the “Johnny English” series and appearances in “The Prince and Me” and “Paddington 2”.
In his personal life, Miller has been married twice. He shares a son with his first wife, actress Belinda Stewart-Wilson. In 2013, he married Jessica Parker, a film producer, with whom he has two children. The family resides in the Cotswolds, where Miller balances his professional commitments with a fulfilling family life.
