Born: 25 September 2003, Nottingham, England. 

Bella Ramsey, born Isabella May Ramsey hails from Nottingham, England. From a young age, Bella exhibited a passion for acting, which led them to join Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Loughborough at the age of four. They spent seven years honing their craft there, participating in various local productions. This early exposure to the performing arts laid a solid foundation for their future career.

Bella’s education journey took an unconventional path. They attended King’s InterHigh, an online school, which allowed them to balance their studies with their burgeoning acting career. Bella found the traditional school environment challenging and unfulfilling, so the flexibility of online education suited them perfectly. This setup enabled them to focus on their acting pursuits while still receiving a quality education.

In terms of personal life, Bella Ramsey identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. They have been open about their struggles with mental health, particularly anorexia nervosa, which they battled during their time on the set of “The Worst Witch.” Bella’s decision to leave the show in 2020 was driven by a need to prioritise their mental well-being. Their openness about these challenges has made them a relatable and inspiring figure for many fans.

Bella is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness. They have used their platform to promote these causes, aiming to inspire and support others facing similar struggles.
