Mini Biography

Born: 21 February 1987, Bristol, England.

Tuppence Middleton was born in Bristol and raised in a family with two siblings, an older sister named Angel and a younger brother named Josh.

From a young age, Tuppence exhibited a passion for the performing arts. Her unique name, ‘Tuppence,’ was a childhood nickname given to her mother by her grandmother, which was then passed down to her. Growing up in Clevedon, Somerset, she was described as shy and reclusive at school but found her confidence on stage, describing youth theatre as an “outlet” where she could be herself.

Tuppence Middleton’s educational journey in the arts began at Bristol Grammar School, where she participated in school plays, including a production of “Guys and Dolls.” She further developed her craft at Stagecoach, a performing arts school in Portishead and later earned an honours degree in acting from the Arts Educational School in London.

Her career in front of the camera started with small roles, but her breakthrough came with the historical drama “The Imitation Game” (2014), where she starred alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. This role was followed by appearances in “Jupiter Ascending” (2015), “The Current War” (2017) and David Fincher’s “Mank” (2020). She also became a familiar face to television audiences through her roles in “Bones” (2008), “Black Mirror” (2013), and as the Russian princess Hélène Kuragina in “War & Peace” (2016).

Tuppence Middleton’s personal life, while kept relatively private, is known to be grounded and close to her roots. She has a child with her partner MÃ¥ns MÃ¥rlind and despite her rising fame, she maintains a strong connection with her family and her hometown.
