Tom Hiddleston spent his early years in Wimbledon before moving to a village near Oxford. His mother was a former stage manager and his father a scientist. Hiddleston’s parents divorced when he was twelve. He attended the Dragon School in Oxford and later Eton College, where he was a boarder. He continued his education at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge, earning a double first in Classics. While at Cambridge, a talent agent saw him in a play, leading to his first television role in 2001. He further pursued his passion for acting by studying at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 2005.
Tom Hiddleston’s career includes a range of significant film and television roles. His breakthrough came with the portrayal of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with “Thor” (2011), and continuing through films like “The Avengers” (2012), “Thor: The Dark World” (2013), “Thor: Ragnarok” (2017), and “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018), as well as the Disney+ series “Loki” (2021-2023). Beyond the MCU, he has appeared in Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” (2011), Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” (2011), Jim Jarmusch’s “Only Lovers Left Alive” (2013), and Guillermo del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” (2015). On television, he earned critical acclaim for his role in “The Night Manager” (2016).
In his personal life, Tom Hiddleston is engaged to English actress and writer Zawe Ashton, whom he met while co-starring in the 2019 play “Betrayal”. The couple has kept their relationship private and welcomed a son in October 2022.
