Born: 10 November 1989, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England.Â
Taron Egerton grew up in Aberystwyth, Wales, where he developed a passion for acting at a young age. After completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Egerton began his acting career in 2013 with a small role in the TV series “Lewis.”
However, it was his breakthrough role as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in the 2014 film “Kingsman: The Secret Service” that brought him international recognition. He reprised the role in the 2017 sequel “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” which was also a commercial success.
Taron Egerton has also starred in other notable films, including “Eddie the Eagle” (2016), in which he played the titular character, and “Rocketman” (2019), a biographical musical film in which he portrayed the legendary musician Elton John. His performance in “Rocketman” earned him critical acclaim and a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
In addition to his film work, Egerton has also appeared in several stage productions, including “The Last of the Haussmans” and “The Admirable Crichton” at the National Theatre in London.
Off-screen, Taron Egerton is known for his philanthropic work. He is an ambassador for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and has supported various charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Royal British Legion.
