Born: 11 March 1960, Watford, Hertfordshire, England. 

Robert Glenister is best known for his television roles as Ash “Three Socks” Morgan in the crime drama series Hustle and Nicholas Blake in the spy drama series Spooks.

Glenister was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, the son of Joan Fry Lewis and television director John Glenister. He has an older brother, Philip, who is also an actor. Glenister attended Harrow Weald Grammar School, where he developed an interest in acting. He then studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Robert Glenister made his television debut in the 1980 BBC sitcom Sink or Swim. He has since appeared in numerous television series, including Soldier Soldier, Only Fools and Horses, A Touch of Frost, Inspector George Gently, Spooks, and MI-5.

Glenister’s most famous role is Ash Morgan in the BBC drama Hustle. He played Morgan for all eight series of the show, from 2004 to 2012. Morgan is a charming and flamboyant conman who is always one step ahead of the law. Glenister’s performance as Morgan earned him critical acclaim and a number of awards, including an Audie Award and an Anthony Award.

In addition to his acting work, Glenister is also a successful audiobook narrator. He has narrated several audiobooks, including  lllllJ.K. Rowling’s The Cuckoo’s Calling and The Silkworm. He is also a keen musician and plays the guitar and piano.

Glenister has been married twice. He was first married to actress Amanda Redman from 1984 to 1992. He has a daughter, Emily, with Redman. He is currently married to Celia Glenister, and they have a son, Thomas.
