Born: 18 November 1980, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England.Â
Mathew Baynton’s passion for performing ignited at a young age, inspired by his family’s love of humour. He pursued his theatrical ambitions at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, graduating with first-class honours.
Baynton’s professional journey began in the world of children’s entertainment, co-creating and starring in the immensely successful sketch comedy series “Horrible Histories” alongside his comedy troupe, Them There. The show’s irreverent and informative take on historical events captivated audiences, cementing Baynton’s reputation as a witty and engaging performer.
Baynton’s talent extended beyond children’s entertainment. In 2013, he co-created, wrote, and starred in the critically acclaimed comedy-drama series “The Wrong Mans,” earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Comedy Series.
Baynton’s television credits span a diverse range of genres, including the acclaimed comedy series “Gavin & Stacey,” the spy thriller “Spy,” and the comedy-drama “Yonderland.” He has also demonstrated his musical talents in the ensemble cast of the mockumentary series “Peep Show.”
