Lorna Watson embarked on a journey into the world of entertainment with a passion for comedy and a penchant for storytelling. Her early life was shaped by a love for the arts, nurtured through her involvement in school plays and performances. It was during her time at Tiffin Girls’ School in Kingston upon Thames that she met her comedic partner, Ingrid Oliver, a bond that would shape their professional paths in years to come.

Watson’s career took off in the early 2000s when she joined the sketch comedy troupe “Rush Hour,” showcasing her versatility and comedic timing. Her knack for physical humour and improvisational skills further honed her talents, leading her to land roles in various television shows, including “The Wrong Door,” “Watson & Oliver,” and “The IT Crowd.”
In 2013, Watson’s career took a pivotal turn when she portrayed the unconventional nun Sister Boniface in the Father Brown episode “The Bride of Christ.” The character, a sharp-witted and forensically-minded winemaker, resonated with audiences, leading to the development of a spin-off series, “The Sister Boniface Mysteries.”

The Sister Boniface Mysteries, premiered in 2022, catapulted Lorna Watson to international fame. The series, a blend of comedy, crime and mystery, brought critical acclaim and a devoted fan base. Watson’s portrayal of Sister Boniface, a character equal parts clever, compassionate and endearing, solidified her position as a leading comedic actress.
