Lily Collins is a British-American actress and model with a career that spans across various genres and mediums.

Lily Collins was born to English musician Phil Collins and his second wife, Jill Tavelman. She experienced the complexities of the entertainment industry early on, with her father’s fame casting a vast shadow. After her parents’ divorce in 1996, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother, where she was exposed to a blend of British and American cultures.

Lily Collins attended the prestigious Harvard-Westlake School and later pursued broadcast journalism at the University of Southern California. Her education was complemented by her early experiences in the industry, which included being presented as a debutante at the Bal des débutantes in Paris in 2007.

Lily Collins’ acting career began at the age of two with the BBC sitcom “Growing Pains.” She gained recognition for her supporting role in “The Blind Side” (2009) and went on to star in films like “Priest” (2011), “Abduction” (2011), “Mirror Mirror” (2012) and “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” (2013). Her performances in “Rules Don’t Apply” (2016) and “To the Bone” (2017) earned her critical praise and a Golden Globe nomination.

She also portrayed Fantine in the BBC miniseries “Les Misérables” (2018-2019) and has been starring as Emily Cooper in the Netflix series “Emily in Paris” since 2020, for which she received Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy nominations.

Beyond the screen, Lily Collins is known for her memoir “Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me,” where she discusses her struggles with mental health and an eating disorder. She married filmmaker Charlie McDowell in 2021. Collins is also recognised for her philanthropic efforts, advocating for mental health awareness and using her platform to support various charitable causes.
