Mini Biography

Born: 28 January 1976, Burnley, Lancashire, England. 

After completing his primary education at the Habergham High School in Burnley, Lee Ingleby went on to pursue further studies at Accrington and Rossendale College. It was there that he improved his acting skills through various courses and workshops.

Ingleby made his debut appearance on screen with a small role in the television series “Soldier Soldier” (1994). However, it was his portrayal of Paul Hughes in the critically acclaimed drama series “Nature Boy” (2000) that gained him significant attention from both audiences and industry professionals alike.

Among his most notable roles is that of Detective Sergeant John Bacchus in the popular British crime drama series “Inspector George Gently” (2007-2017). In this long-running show set during the 1960s and ’70s, Ingleby captivated viewers with his compelling portrayal of a young detective involved in complex cases alongside the titular character played by Martin Shaw.

In addition to his acting career, Ingleby has also ventured into production. He co-founded the company Big Rich Films, which has produced several short films including “The Last Drop,” which he wrote and directed himself.
