Juliet Mills hails from an esteemed family of actors, her parents being Sir John Mills and Lady Mary Hayley Bell.
Mills received her education at various prestigious institutions, including Elmhurst Ballet School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). These formative years laid the foundation for her future success.
In 1963, Juliet’s career took a significant leap forward with her portrayal of Nurse Sandra May Smith in the comedy “Nurse on Wheels.” This role showcased not only her acting abilities but also her comedic timing. It marked a turning point that would lead to many more notable performances throughout her career.
Another milestone came when Mills appeared as Sally Potter alongside renowned comedians like Kenneth Williams and Bernard Cribbins in the 1963 British comedy “Carry On Jack.” Her energetic performance as a female stowaway aboard a pirate ship earned critical acclaim and further solidified her talent as an actress capable of delivering memorable characters.
Beyond these early successes, Mills continued to excel across various mediums throughout her illustrious career. From stage productions such as “The Elephant Man” to starring roles in television series like “Nanny and the Professor”.
Mills has won numerous awards including an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
