Born: 21 July 1992, Northallerton, North Yorkshire, England.
Jessica Barden began acting at the age of nine and quickly developed a love for the craft.
Barden’s breakthrough role came in 2011 with her portrayal of Kayleigh Morton on the long-running soap opera “Coronation Street”. Her natural talent was immediately apparent, and she continued to impress audiences with roles in films such as “Hanna” (2011) and “In the Dark Half” (2012).
However, it was her dynamic performance as Alyssa in Netflix’s hit series “The End of the F***ing World” that truly cemented Barden’s status as one of Hollywood’s rising stars. Her raw energy and fearless approach to acting earned critical acclaim, leading to further high-profile roles including playing Justine in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
Off-screen, Jessica is an advocate for mental health awareness. She has been open about her own struggles with anxiety and depression since childhood. In addition to raising awareness through interviews and social media posts, she supports various charities focused on mental health issues.
