Mini Biography

Born: 26 May 1981, Salford, England. 

Jason Manford is a multi-talented entertainer who has carved a successful career in comedy, acting, presenting and singing.

Jason Manford’s comedic journey began in his teens when he replaced a no-show performer at the Buzz Comedy Club in Chorlton, Manchester. This impromptu performance ignited his passion for stand-up comedy.

During his teenage years, Jason Manford attended St Margaret’s Primary School and Chorlton High School (then known as Oakwood High School). He also formed a band with two friends, exploring his musical interests alongside his burgeoning comedic talent.

Manford’s professional comedy career took off in 2000 when he won the regional heat of the Channel 4’s “So You Think You’re Funny?” competition. He went on to become a regular on the stand-up circuit, winning numerous awards, including the Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act in 2006.

In 2007, Manford joined the panel show “8 Out of 10 Cats” as a team captain, showcasing his quick wit and comedic timing. He has also hosted numerous television shows, including “The One Show,” “Show Me the Funny,” and “Bigheads.”

Manford’s acting career spans television, film, and theater. He has appeared in shows like “Shameless” and “Ideal,” and starred in the West End productions of “Sweeney Todd” and “The Producers.” He also released three studio albums, showcasing his singing talent.

Manford married his first wife, Catherine in 2007, having four children before separating in 2013. In 2017 Manford married Lucy Dyke and they have two children. He is a strong supporter of Manchester City Football Club and is passionate about charity work.
