Born: 1 May 1982, Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland.

Born James Peter Maxwell Dornan, Jamie Dornan grew up in the suburbs of Belfast. He attended Methodist College Belfast, where he participated in the drama department and played rugby. A significant personal event during his youth was the tragic loss of his mother to pancreatic cancer when he was 16. While he briefly attended Teesside University, he ultimately left to pursue his aspirations in London.
Jamie Dornan initially ventured into the entertainment industry as a model in 2001, gaining recognition through campaigns for prominent brands such as Calvin Klein, Dior Homme and Hugo Boss. He was also a member of the folk band Sons of Jim, which disbanded in 2008.

His transition to acting began in 2006 with a role in Sofia Coppola’s film “Marie Antoinette”. His career gained significant momentum with his critically acclaimed portrayal of serial killer Paul Spector in the BBC crime drama “The Fall” (2013-2016). Globally, he became widely recognised for his leading role as Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades” film trilogy (2015-2018). Post-“Fifty Shades”, Dornan has sought diverse roles, including in films like “A Private War” (2018), the critically lauded “Belfast” (2021) and the comedic “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” (2021). He has received numerous nominations and awards throughout his career, including two Irish Film and Television Awards.
In his personal life, Jamie Dornan married English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner in 2013. They have three daughters: Dulcie, Elva and Alberta. The family currently resides in the UK, although Belfast remains a significant place for Dornan. He often speaks of his commitment to his family and the joy he finds in fatherhood.
