Born: 3 June 1989, Hammersmith, London, England.
Imogen Poots was born into a creative family. Her father, Trevor Poots, is a television producer and her mother, Fiona Goodall, is a journalist and voluntary worker. Growing up in a household surrounded by the arts, Imogen developed a deep appreciation for storytelling from an early age.
Imogen Poots attended Bute House Preparatory School for Girls before moving on to Queen’s Gate School in London. During her school years, she displayed a natural talent for acting and participated in numerous school productions. It was clear that her passion lay in the performing arts.
Imogen Poots began her professional acting career in the early 2000s. She made her debut in the television series “Casualty” in 2004 and soon after appeared in the critically acclaimed film “V for Vendetta” (2005). Poots’ breakthrough role came in 2007 when she starred in the independent film “28 Weeks Later,” a sequel to the popular zombie thriller “28 Days Later.”
Since then, Poots has garnered attention for her exceptional performances in a diverse range of films. She showcased her versatility in movies like “Solitary Man” (2009), “Jane Eyre” (2011), and “A Late Quartet” (2012). In 2014, Poots starred alongside Aaron Paul in the high-octane action film “Need for Speed,” which further solidified her place in Hollywood.
Poots’ career continued to flourish with notable roles in films such as “Green Room” (2015), “Sweet Virginia” (2017), and “I Kill Giants” (2017).
In 2020, Poots portrayed the character of Laura in the critically acclaimed film “The Father” , which featured renowned actors Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. Continuing her successful career, in 2022, she took on the enigmatic role of Autumn in the Prime Video series “Outer Range” , an intriguing science fiction neo-Western.
Outside of acting, she enjoys painting and photography. Poots and actor James Norton have been together since 2018 and got engaged in 2022.
