Born: 17 September 1996, Whitechapel, London, England. 

Ella Purnell’s passion for acting ignited at a young age, leading her to attend Sylvia Young Theatre School. Her talent was soon recognised, and she made her professional acting debut at the age of 14 in the 2010 film “Never Let Me Go.”

In the years that followed, Purnell’s career took off, with notable roles in films such as “Intruders” (2011), “Kick-Ass 2” (2013), and “Maleficent” (2014). Her portrayal of Maleficent’s young daughter, Princess Aurora, brought her critical acclaim and solidified her position as a rising star in Hollywood.

Purnell’s versatility extends beyond the big screen. She has lent her voice to the animated film “Wildlike” (2014) and starred in the critically acclaimed BBC One miniseries “Ordeal by Innocence” (2018). In 2017, she took on the lead role of Tess in the Starz drama series “Sweetbitter,” showcasing her ability to carry a narrative and deliver complex emotional performances.

Beyond her professional achievements, Purnell is known for her down-to-earth personality and commitment to social causes. She is an advocate for animal welfare and has supported various organisations dedicated to environmental protection.
