Kingsley was born in Snainton, North Riding of Yorkshire, England. His father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji, was of Gujarati Indian descent, while his mother, Anna Lyna Mary Goodman, was British. Growing up in a mixed heritage household, Kingsley developed an appreciation for different cultures, which would later influence his acting choices.
He attended Manchester Grammar School, where his interest in acting was nurtured. Kingsley then pursued further education at Pendleton College, followed by the University of Salford, where he studied drama. His dedication and talent were evident from an early age, laying the groundwork for his future success in the performing arts.
