Born in Bristol, Stefanie Martini’s journey began in the heart of her hometown, where she participated in local youth plays and developed her skills at Winscombe Youth Theatre. Martini’s passion for acting led her to undertake a two-week induction at the prestigious National Youth Theatre, further fueling her desire to pursue a career in the performing arts.
Despite her initial interest in illustration, Stefanie Martini’s teacher recognized her potential as an actress and encouraged her to pursue her true calling. After completing her A-levels at Churchill Academy and Sixth Form, Martini enrolled in an arts foundation course, which provided her with the foundational skills necessary to enter the world of professional acting.
In 2015, Martini’s dedication and talent culminated in her acceptance into the esteemed Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where she graduated with a BA Hons in Acting. Her time at RADA further polished her craft, equipping her with the tools to excel in the demanding industry.
Martini’s professional breakthrough came in 2016 when she was cast as Lady Mary Thorne in the BBC One period drama series “Doctor Thorne.” Her portrayal of the spirited and determined Mary impressed audiences and critics alike, establishing her as a rising star in the industry.
The following year, Martini landed a pivotal role in the ITV police drama “Prime Suspect 1973,” playing a young Jane Tennison, the iconic character made famous by Helen Mirren. Martini’s portrayal of Tennison’s early years received critical acclaim, showcasing her ability to capture the essence of a complex and determined character.
Stefanie Martini’s career continued to flourish with her portrayal of Sophia de Havilland in the 2017 Agatha Christie adaptation, “Crooked House,” and her recurring role as Aelswith in the historical drama series “The Last Kingdom.”
Beyond her acting achievements, Stefanie Martini is a classically trained singer, adding another dimension to her artistic talents. She is also a passionate advocate for animal welfare and environmental protection.
