Born: 24 June 1982, Belfast, Northern Ireland. 

Laura Donnelly’s early life was influenced by her surroundings, as she was raised during a tumultuous time in Northern Ireland’s history, marked by the Troubles. Despite this challenging backdrop, Laura found solace and inspiration in the world of performing arts from a young age.

Her pursuit of acting led her to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now known as the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). After completing her education, Laura embarked on a career in acting, driven by her determination to make a mark in the entertainment industry.

Laura Donnelly’s talent and dedication soon caught the attention of audiences and critics alike, leading to a series of notable roles in both film and television. One of her most acclaimed performances came in the hit TV series “Outlander,” where she portrayed the character of Jenny Fraser Murray, earning praise for her portrayal of a strong and resilient woman in 18th-century Scotland.

In “The Nevers,” Laura Donnelly portrays Amalia True, one of the main characters of the series. Amalia is a quick-witted, sharp-tongued, and mysterious widow with a hidden past. She possesses a unique ability that allows her to see glimpses of the future, which she refers to as “ripples in the air.” Amalia is known for her fierce determination and leadership skills, as she becomes a central figure in the group of “Touched” individuals who possess supernatural abilities in Victorian London.

In addition to her work on television, Laura has also made a name for herself in the world of film. She has appeared in movies such as “Dread,” “Insatiable,” and “The Program,” showcasing her range as an actress and her ability to bring depth and complexity to her characters.
