New’s curiosity about the world took her beyond borders. She embarked on journeys to over 20 countries, including a humbling three-month stint volunteering at a children’s home in Bolivia in 2003. These experiences instilled in her a deep understanding of different cultures and a desire to connect with diverse communities.

Back in England, New pursued a well-rounded education at the University of Leeds, majoring in English and Spanish. Her linguistic talents propelled her abroad again, this time to Spain, where she further developed her Spanish skills and even landed a modeling contract. This unexpected career turn helped finance her dream of attending the renowned Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, where she earned a postgraduate degree in acting.

New’s acting career blossomed soon after graduation. She landed roles in British television series like “Doctors” and “Call the Midwife”. However, it was her portrayal of Princess Eleanor of Aquitaine in the historical drama “Black Sails” that truly catapulted her to international fame.
