Born: 4 April 1952, Nottingham, England.Â
Cherie Lunghi displayed an early passion for the arts. She grew up in a supportive family environment that encouraged her artistic pursuits. Lunghi’s father, Alessandro Lunghi, was an Italian immigrant who worked as a musician, while her mother, Gladys, was an English dancer.
Lunghi’s love for acting blossomed during her school years, and she decided to pursue her passion by enrolling at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
Lunghi’s breakthrough role came in 1974 when she starred as Guinevere in the iconic film “Excalibur,” directed by John Boorman. This role catapulted her into the limelight and established her as a rising star in the industry.
In addition to her screen accomplishments, Lunghi has also made a significant impact in the world of theatre. She has performed in various critically acclaimed stage productions, including the Royal Shakespeare Company’s rendition of “Romeo and Juliet” and “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” in London’s West End.
