Mini Biography

Born: 2 February 1986, Gravesend, England. 

Gemma Arterton grew up in a working-class family and attended Gravesend Grammar School for Girls. After completing her education, she went on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Arterton began her acting career in 2007, with a role in the film “St Trinian’s.” She gained recognition for her performance in the James Bond film “Quantum of Solace” (2008), where she played the role of Bond girl, Strawberry Fields. She went on to star in several other successful films, including “Clash of the Titans” (2010), “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” (2010), and “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” (2013).

In addition to her film work, Arterton has also appeared on stage in productions such as “The Master Builder” and “Saint Joan.” She has received critical acclaim for her performances and was nominated for an Olivier Award for her role in “The Duchess of Malfi.”

Arterton is also known for her philanthropic work. She is an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust, a charity that helps young people in the UK. She has also worked with the United Nations Development Programme to raise awareness of gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Despite her success, Gemma Arterton has been open about the challenges she has faced in the entertainment industry, including sexism and objectification. She has been an advocate for women’s rights and has spoken out against the mistreatment of women in the industry.
